This is more along the lines of 'one feels like a monster but the other loves them unconditionally': Hana to Akuma, Beast Master, Chrno Crusade (sorta), Apothecarius Argentum, Gertrude no Recipe, Samurai Deeper Kyo (it's shounen though so those moments are limited)....

These are probably obvious but Perfect Girl Evolution, H2O and Kimi ni Todoke has that (though with Kimi ni Todoke it's not that she's antisocial, but people don't want to interact with her cos they think she's scary.)

Similar to Fuushigi Yuugi sorta plot... you could try Haruka (it's a reverse harem, so maybe that's not your thing) or Saver? I highly recommend Saver, it has awesome art and a unique female lead.

There's 2 romance I can think of that definitely fits your criteria: Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu and Princess (this spans through 3 generations so you see the growth of the children from generations 2 and 3). Both are tragedies though.

I'm looking for a (romance) series where there is lots of couples and the focus is pretty much equally divided between said couples -- I prefer for it to be as long and angsty as Princess if possible XD

Mix Vegetable -- there's only one scanlated chapter for this one, but it's been licensed by Viz. From what I've seen, the food pictures are really pretty and the storyline seems cute. It mainly deals with sushi and pastry.
