Any genre is good bar adult/yuri/yaoi/hentai, I do not like manhwa/doujinshi, I tend to like manga with anime (upcoming or not), manga with bishonen and manga which aren't "popular" by the majority's view...and my tastes mostly lie in the shonen area. However, there are a lot of unlicensed/non-anime gems out there, please introduce me to some of them!

It would also be good if the whole work was fully scanlated/ongoing + the scanlations were still accessible or it's being translated/has been translated officially with volumes still accesible via a license that isn't "dead" yet.

My guilty pleasures are magical girls/guys and transformations (age, gender, what have you) so if you like, you can pick something along those lines.

Anime I've watched recently or am watching: Code Geass, Aoharu x Kikanjuu, Ranpo Kitan, Ore Monogatari, Kekkai Sensen, Boueibu, Death Parade and Rokka no Yuusha.

I've read a lot of manga (at least in part) so be careful with what you recommend.

I don't mind recommending but I have some Qs instead of randomly listing. It's also hard not knowing what mangas you've read already but hope this will help me help you with introducing you to unique gems. Most are Y/N questions.

1. Do you have any standards in terms of art style? If so, what's the "worst" you can think of that you've tolerated? Or do you not care for art so much as long as the story is great?
2. Why don't you like manhwa? (there are some good ones out there, Hwang mi ri and han yu rang are not what I call good.) If you don't feel like saying, you don't have to bother to answer
3. Are you alright with manhua? webtoons (chinese, korean, japanese)?
4. Are you ok with slice of life?
5. Are you ok with interest centered tags like cooking, music, dance?
6. Does genre bar also include shounen ai and shoujo ai (not necessarily involving romance)?

Sorry if this is more trouble to you than it's worth. Of course since you say you are open minded ("any genre is good") I could simply recommend a wide range of mangas/huas/hwas. But I can't promise shounens you may not have read since it's not my first choice.

The easiest way to make sure people don't recommend stuff that you have already read would to make your lists public. That way when we click on you user name the list(s) can be viewed. You can pick and choose which lists you want to make public also.

1. The "worst", off the top of my head, would be Ahiru no Oujisama (but it's a kinda odd 90s manga). My preference is shonen simply because the shojo big lip look doesn't really get to me. But so long as the story is great, I'll take it.
2. I tried reading a few and I couldn't get past the first few pages. I just...can't get into them. The same goes for Naruto/Bleach/Attack on Titan which are the big 3 offenders of my "popular" filter, plus I once tried Heroes of the Spring and Autumn (Chinese webtoon) - same reaction - so it's not just manhwa that does it.
3. I'm alright with Japanese webtoons, ReLIFE is one that I am quite caught up with. The rest: nope (see 2 for why).
4. Yes. Things like Barakamon, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou and Orenchi no Furo Jijou are good.
5. I wouldn't mind them, but I may have different reactions to some works with similar themes. It really just depends on how the content is handled.
6. Yes.

@sithkazar
I'm a noob around here so I haven't got any lists set up...and I don't remember everything I've read so it will be very hard to compile them anyway.

This is tough since it's vague, so I'll just recommend some of my favorites that you may not have read:

Shounen

Mahou Tsukai no Yome (Fantasy, Romance, Ongoing)
Capeta (Sports, Completed, but not completely scanlated yet)
Shoukoku no Altair (Historical, Ongoing)

Seinen

Chang Ge Xing (Historical, kinda Gender Bender, Shoujo in China, Seinen in Japan, Ongoing)
Drifters (Fantasy, Action, Adventure, Ongoing)
Otoyomegatari (Historical, Romance, Ongoing)
Nobunaga no Chef (Historical, Cooking, Ongoing)
Sidooh (Historical, Ongoing)
Ran to Haiiro no Sekai (Fantasy, main protagonist is very magical, Complete)

Shoujo

Ame Nochi Hare (Bikke) (Gender Bender Transformation, School Life, Complete, but slow going with last 2 vol scans)
Basara (Fantasy, Gender Bender, Complete)

Josei

Seigi no Mikata (Slice of Life, Ongoing)

Haha, thought it'd be just some, and it's come to this...didn't even really go over my complete list.

Since request is very vague, I'm just dropping by to recommend the only manga I rated 10/10 among thousands, Gunslinger Girl.

Hidden gem among shounen and based on your anime tastes, I'd go with Chrno Crusade, there is also a good anime adaptation (with different ending).

Among the current anime season, I strongly recommend Gangsta, so try it if you didn't. You can also check its manga (seinen with mature contents).

I'm not a fan of magical girls, but if you didn't, you ought to watch "Princess Tutu" anime (which probably has the best soundtrack of the history of anime), there is a manga also but it's not very good.

Thank you all so much!
I've read most of Bakuman (precisely 13/20 volumes of the manga, now that I think about it) and some of Ame Nochi Hare, Hikaru no Go, Parasyte (including the anime), Gangsta (anime only), Rosario to Vampire, Rurouni Kenshin (anime and manga), Love Com and Fullmetal Alchemist and I liked each and every one of them so I'll continue with them...assuming I can find more of that stuff to read. (Note the "some" category includes the works I've seen one or a few episode(s)/one or a few chapter(s) of.)
The rest I've either heard of and/or haven't tried so I'll try them out.
