I've been getting a bit bored with the manga I've been reading, mainly romance, shoujo and school life stuff. And I've felt its high time I get out of the romance genre and get more into the action/adventure/fantasy genres, where when I do read from these series I find that I read some of my favorite manga.
So I was wondering if anyone could give me a recommendation of some really good manga that has either, action, adventure or fantasy.
It can be: shoujo, shounen, seinen or josei.
The genre's I don't want are: Ecchi, hentai, horror, yaoi, yuri, shounen ai or shoujo ai, mature, adult

So please whatever you really enjoy that fits my requirements please tell me, I'm very open right now for some good manga to read!

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind - pretty much the perfect action/adventure/fantasy mix.
Watashi no Messiah-sama - there's a few ecchi moments, but not enough to call it an ecchi series.

Juuni Kokki is standard for adventure/fantasy. It's a complicated and intense story, so if you want something more lighthearted, this wouldn't be it. I really do like this manga though. Anime is also very good.
Fullmetal Alchemist, because it isn't all about powering up and it's pretty engaging. There is a great deal of character depth, and a lot of the story is character driven (~shoujo titles). The anime adheres to the manga (brotherhood.).

Some well known, more retro, action+adventure+fantasy manga are Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, Fairy Tail, Naruto, Inuyasha, [m]Yuyu Hakusho[m]. These manga are a bit older and have heavier shonen elements. (except for inuyasha, i think it might even be shojo). I highly recommend the following out of these:
Hunter x Hunter. I personally really really like this one. The art is very rough, but the characters are wonderful, and the world is rich. Anime is good too.

If you want something more modern, and with nicer art, try
Tegami Bachi (gorgeous art, in a tundra fantasy world),
D. Gray-man (wonderful gothic fantasy world complete with exorcists),
Ao no Futsumashi (exorcists-in-training, surprisingly good manga). Also
Jio to Ougon to Kinjirareta Mahou (flower loving wizard travels to capital) ,
Sengoku Youko -demon siblings travel the world trying to create peace between humans and demons.

Well i think that's everything i can think of for now. The best way to see which ones you like is to read/watch a bit of each and figure out which ones you want to continue biggrin Good luck! It's such a broad selection of genres so i wasn't sure what you wanted exactly.

Thank's a lot for all of your recommendations, I really appreciate it and I found many of the recommendations to sound interesting and plan to read them.

I do realize that I didn't give many specifics as to what I want/like but that's mainly because right now I'm very open to any manga recommended, I haven't read much shounen so right now I'm getting a feel for the genre and what I might like to read in this genre in the future.

Thank's again for the help so far and I would appreciate any more recommendations.

Mahou Sensei Negima slow to pickup but after halfway it's hard to put down (not too enjoyable until a couple volumes but gets really good).

07 Ghost
Karneval
Dogs: Bullets & Carnage
[m]Koukaku no regios - Missing Mail[/m]
Violinist of Hameln
Silvery Crow
Team Medical Dragon Don't let the first couple of chapters but you off. This manga is amazing. Although it's not proper action, it's very good
Rurouni Kenshin
Red River
Rave
Mononoke although I would recommend the anime first; it's better
Luck Stealer
E's although no scanslation groups are currently working on it cry
Kingdom Hearts
Jackals
Immortal Regis
Hanatsuki Hime romance
Gamaran
Gintama
The Breaker
Blazer Drive
Akuma Bengoshi Kukabara
[m]Ao no Excorist[/m]
Persona 3

There's a mix here; some are just action, some are action based around a supernatural ability (so fantasy? afterall, sci-fi is an off-shoot of fantasy) some are fantasy and some are a mixture of adventure, with fantasy.

Yeah biggrin If you post feedback on what you think of some of the manga, perhaps we can help more?

:3 I see you like Nabari no Oh (I like that manga too <3), here are some action/adventure/fantasy manga that kind of remind me of it.

Pandora Hearts - Dash of trauma and angst, very pretty art. General plot is mischievous boy unleashes sealed malevolent spirit and is dragged into equivalent of hell for many years. After forming a contract with her, comes back to find much has changed. (not sure, is she a malevolent spirit?).

Switch and Dolls are grittier and lacking the fantasy element, but have characters lose control, tragic main characters and the like. Some shonen ai undertones, but i don't think it'll bother you if you've read Nabari.

Replica - I think it's interesting so far; dynamic between main characters is fun. Members of cards have to destroy accursed toys by forming two person teams. Our heroic duo consist of a cold and empty individual with the ability scapegoat (can absorb injuries from others) and a guy who is extremely resilient. Karneval seconded, also is pretty good.

Drug-On - I totally forgot about this one. About guardians of an island who protect a mythical elixir from people seeking it because it turns the weak willed into monsters. Kind of cool, there's a fairy tale naming thing going so far and the characters are pretty interesting.

Dogs: Bullets & Carnage Is probably one of my most favorite manga XD I was reluctant to recommend it because i wasn't sure if there was enough fantasy. It's action packed, and i really like the relationships between the characters. The art is gorgeous and the comedy is wry and snappy. Takes place in a fantasy realm permanently stuck in winter with both underground and aboveground cities.

I'm going to alter what I'm looking for just a bit, I thank you all for what you've been suggesting and I appreciate it. I've noticed that many of the suggestions have the mature tag on them, and I'm not really comfortable reading withing that genre (though I'm sure the stories are good I just don't really want to read in that genre...) So I'm going to add that genre into one I don't want to read in.
