Hey, I'm looking for a unique shoujo/romance manga that stands out.
Some examples are:
Skip Beat
Koukou debut
Vampire Knight
Special A
Kare First Love
Kare Kano..
etc..
please and thank you! 🙂 (No yaoi or yuri stuff please)

No posts? I thought this was a livelier place, maybe everyone has moved on to better things? Or.. maybe you've been "Looking" for so many things that everyone is sick of you ;D? Jk..

Anywho... those so called "unique shoujo/romance manga" you were speaking of, aren't very unique at all, now there's your problem..

Finally, what you asked for...

Houou Gakuen Misoragumi
Tamago no Kimi
Hanbun wa Ai de Dekitemasu

These are unique in the fact that amongst the rest of all the manga, they're actually good and funny too

If the manga you listed were manga you enjoyed and liked then I'm sure that these will completely surpass your expectations. And then you will finally understand the meaning of amazing, and break free of the cage of suffering that you've binded yourself in all along

Here's a bonus - Gintama I wouldn't really call it a bonus though, more like the best anime you'll ever lay your eyes on

I think the issue is that, aside from Kare Kano, all of those are pretty much standard mainstream shoujo fare, not really "unique," which I would usually define as the type of stuff Midorikawa Yuki does.

You'd probably like Kimi ni Todoke though.

Your description for unique is a little too vague for me. So I'll give you some of my favorite manga instead.

If you like the first one then you'll like the second one.
-Srobe Edge
-Bokura wa Itsumo

The drawings are a bit unique, but the story makes up for it. Although it's the typical stupid girl after perfect guy, I was addicted.
-Itazura na Kiss

Ah, forgot to mention 17 (SAKURAI Machiko). I found this quite unique in it's own way... it's hard to explain... ^^" Read it and you'll understand what I mean... ;D

Kare wa Tomodachi
It doesn't really stand out (nothing really flashy about it), but it's unique to me since it actually portrays relationships really well.
I also recommend:
Sukitte Ii na yo
Kaichou wa Maid-sama! - mainstream, but it's good
Anything by Sahara Mizu/Yumeka Sumomo (there the same person btw)
Vampire Girl by Fujiwara Kaoru. Her other work Fetish is really good as well.
Akkan Baby
Mars It's really good. Souryo Fuyumi other works (especially Eternal Sabbath) are good as well.
By Hero Cute oneshot, told in a bird's point of view.
Lovely Complex
Venus Capriccio
W Juliet
Kimi wa Girlfriend Cute and Different.
Saruyama Funny, but deep like Kare wa Tomodachi.
Ichigo no Gakkou I don't think it's shoujo, but I recommend it.
Oresama Teacher It's very funny and like it so far.

Hope that helps.

Complex Storyline
Global Garden
IS - Not really romancey :\
Trinity Blood
The Poet Who Buys Words
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo - Tokikake - Shounen, but w/e. It's very nice and watch the anime. It's wayyyy better.

Emotional
17 (SAKURAI Machiko)
Akatsuki no Aria - Josei
Bara no Tameni - Josei
Kingyo Sou

Some Fun Stuff 🤣
Neji to Lantern
Ikoku Meiro no Croisée
Shitsuji-sama no Okiniiri
Strobe Edge - It's fun, but it also has a bit of drama I guess
XD
Eensy-Weensy Monster
Yuurei Ryokoudairiten Soul Mate Tourist
Gakkou Hotel

My personal favorites
Mademoiselle Butterfly
Kon no Ki Konoha
Aishiteruze Baby
Dengeki Daisy

A lot of good suggestions from everyone.

Hissing
Shinrei Tantei Yakumo - Akai Hitomi wa Shitteiru Not exactly romance but the relationship between the lead male and female is really cute.
Seduction More Beautiful Than Love
Heaven!!
Running Through the City In the Sunset
Diamond Head
Isshou Asonde Kurashitai

I think you might like these:
Aishiteruze Baby
Beauty Is the Beast
Dengeki Daisy
Gokinjo Monogatari
Karakuri Odette
Kimi ni Todoke
Nodame Cantabile (*josei)
Ouran High School Host Club
Penguin Revolution
Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume

They're not particularly "unique," as in strange or different, but they're some of the better executed school-life type romantic comedies.

I'm always on the lookout for shoujo manga that does things at least a bit different than the norm--the girl isn't a complete innocent pushover, the guy isn't the most popular boy in school, the story isn't exclusively centered around someone's epic high school first love!!!, whatever.

So here's some personal favorites of mangas that if not entirely, at least in some way avoid the most common shoujo cliches:

Cynical Orange (and her other series Pahanjip)
Diamond Head
Beast Master (and his other series Dengeki Daisy)
Saruyama! (aka Monkey High) (also check out Honey Moon, which is a collection of her one shots)
Miracle Dieter Miyuki
Kawaii Oresama
Sugar Addiction (not a great manhwa per se, but I really enjoyed it for some reason)
Replay
That's Why I Sigh
Aishiteruze Baby (and her other series Atashi wa Bambi and Yamamoto Zenjirou to Moushimasu)
Gokusen
Hiiro no Isu (aka The Scarlet Chair) (and anything else from MIDORIKAWA Yuki)
Forever Honey
Haunted House (if you like gothic lolita look of Vampire Knight, definitely check out more of MIHARA Mitsukazu's works since she's been pretty influential on the development of the style.)
Nodame Cantabile
Flower of Life (also her series Oooku and Antique Bakery. Note: for Antique Bakery, "shonen ai" is included as one of the genres, but this is primarily because one of the main characters is gay; however, no gay relationships actually occur between him or any of the other main characters in the manga.)

A lot of good recommendations up here. Personally, I find manga unique when it deeply touches my emotions and disturbs my thoughts.

I like those kinds best:

drama whirlwind that makes you die of curiosity what happens next
Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=2967
Goong http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=637
Hana Yori Dango http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=328
Lovesick http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=2862

Nana http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=655
So Bad! http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=1142

innocent love story that makes you die of cuteness
Crossroad http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=5750
Dengeki Daisy http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=13582
Hatsukare http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=2609
Kingyo Sou http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=11111

Simply what I can think of as unique:
Perfect Girl Evolution
Ludwig Kakumei (Yuki Kaori in general)
Masca
Horror Collector (maybe a little too unique)
Bride of the Water God
Yami no Matsuei
Bizenghast
Wish
Karakuri Odetto
Safe Again Today
Petshop of Horrors
Rose of Versailles
Fetish
I Am A Piano

They aren't shoujo, but Bitter Virgin and Gintama are both good unique reads (the first is touching and the second is hilarious. Both have very pretty artwork and BV is very emotional)

I read so much shoujo, I can't give too much reccomedations, but here are some of the "unique shoujo" mangas that may fit your criteria:

Beast Master, Dengeki Daisy and all of MOTOMI Kyousuke's works

Hanatsukihime

Akuma to Love Song

Kimi ni Todoke

Akagami no Shirayukihime
